To get to know each other better, we have CI Profiles. These member highlights will help us all get better acquainted, and allow us a peek into the lives of our CII DAM Good® members.

Joining us today is Farooq Altaf, Senior Business Analyst at Paycom.
Farooq, tell me about yourself! Where are you from? How did you end up there?
I am from Jhelum, Pakistan. I moved to Oklahoma City/Edmond in 2005 to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. Higher education brought me to the US.
What I like about my job is I get to experience Project Manager, Procurement, Continuous Improvement and Business Analyst all in one role.
When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
I like to play and watch sports (Badminton, Soccer, Basketball and Cricket), spend time with my family, read and research technology. Last month I played in a local badminton tournament in which my team was the runner up. In spring and summer time I like to grow vegetables in my backyard.

What is something that no one expects about you?
I am always observant.
Tell me a little about your company and the role you have there. What do you like best? What are some things you would like to be different?
I work for Paycom as a Business Analyst. What I like about my job is I get to experience Project Manager, Procurement, Continuous Improvement and Business Analyst all in one role. Also, I am part of setting up PMO in IT which brings tons of excitement.
What is one personal and one professional win you’ve had in the past year?
I completed 2 of the big marketing projects last year. One of the projects was implementation of Adobe Audience Manager and second was implementation of “Seismic” in less than 3 months which typically takes more than 6 months.
Cultural Day at Paycom
What are you most looking forward to in the next year?
I am hoping to get back to normal life without COVID and excited to complete my CBAP and Six Sigma Black Belt training.
What is something interesting that you have been involved with, personally or professionally? Why is it important to you, or what sparked your interest in it?
I have been part of a group to set up a Project Management Office and Business Analyst standards/templates in the IT Department. Anytime I can set up something from scratch or improve an existing process always brings me satisfaction.
In personal life, my ideal is Prophet Mohammed PBUH and I take pride in following his teachings to help others.
Thank you so much, Farooq, for allowing us the opportunity to learn more about you and grow a little closer. Watch the short video Q&A to hear some more interesting things about Farooq and enjoy some of the fun questions we asked him!

I created my foundation with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Over the past decade, I have held Continuous and Process Improvement roles for Black Hills Energy, Williams, the US Air Force and BNSF Railway. I’ve started new CI programs and reinvigorated stale ones. Along the way I earned a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and became a licensed Professional Engineer.
